Kiwanis Club of Rolling Hills Estates offers new Vocational Scholarship Program with Boys and Girls club for Computer Aid Design (CAD) at PV on the Net

The Vocational and Occupational Learning in Technology Program (VOLT) got off to a great start on June 19th with nine students participating in the program. Seven of the students were from the Boys and Girls Club of Los Angeles Harbor. The program was conducted at the Palos Verdes on the Net facility in the City of Rolling Hills Estates.

Feedback from the students was very positive. The B&G Club will loan each B&G club student a laptop so they can download the software and be able to work on their projects at home.

Project Shoe 2019

After professional determination of their shoe size, first and second grade children from Volunteers of America, the Boys & Girls Club, and deployed Air Force families, were escorted through Skechers by a Kiwanis of Rolling Hills Estates volunteer to select a pair of school shoes.

The students returned to the patio and enjoyed snacks, dancing and an inspirational presentation to emphasize that the shoes and school supplies were given as a “hand up” to support their success and were not given as a “handout.” They were encouraged to do a task for their families in return for receiving the shoes.

Each child took home their shoes and a backpack containing school and dental supplies along with everyone’s best wishes for their success in the coming year.
