On September 25th the Kiwanis Club of Rolling Hills Estates installed Derek Gable as president for the 2014-2015 fiscal year at their weekly Red Onion Restaurant luncheon meeting.
The officers for the fiscal year 2014-2015 are President, Derek Gable, President Elect, Ben Carter, Secretary, Laurie Younggren, Foundation Treasurer Herb Stark, and Operations Treasurer Georgette Tahan-Perez. The Board of Directors are Joyce Campbell, Joanie Keluche, Richard Sherman, John Williams, Evelyn Salinas, and Larry Marinovich.
President Derek Gable’s objective for the club is helping children become independent, contributing citizens. “As a club we are dedicated to making sure our charitable efforts reinforce lives of independence and giving back to family and community”.

The 2014 Scholarship Awards Dinner was a great evening! Awards were presented to high school seniors and continuing scholars from Palos Verdes and the surrounding community that were selected for their leadership skills and in return were asked to pay it forward in the future.
Joyce Campbell, Ph.D., P.T., chair of the Scholarship Committee thanks everyone who helped make it a success: Rori Roje for candidate selection; Carolyn Price for invitations; Kathy Chu for programs; Erin Ruymen for RSVPs; Herb Stark for treasurer duties; Evelyn Salinas for table and podium decorations; Karen Held for her special presentation to Candace Johnson; Benjamin Carter for photography; Richard Sherman for music; and Jackie Lowe, Private Event Director for Los Verdes Golf Course for her personal attention to our event and her continuing support of KRHE. And one more, huge thank you to everyone who raised funds throughout the past year!
